There has always been a debate on whether Gluten is good or bad and the debate being intensied with the labeling of products on being containing gluten or gluten free. Well, the fact is, not all gluten is bad!
There are some types that are actually healthy and safe to consume. Yet, it's advisable to be careful with them since some of them could be allergic to Gluten.
This is not just any other allergies that might cause rashes or other skin problems. Gluten has a potential to aggravate an incurable disease called ‘Celiac disease'. Celiac disease is a disease that affects the intestine and leads to a poor absorption of all the basic nutrients like the carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, fibers and vitamins.
People suffering from this disease strictly need to stay away from food that contains Gluten. This is the reason why food are always labeled ‘Gluten-free' so that those who might be suffering from the Celiac disease can easily avoid them.
Adverse effects of gluten
Celiac disease is not the only reason to avoid gluten. Other adverse effects include cerebral calcification which is also partially due to the Celiac disease. Gluten is also seen to trigger mucosal lesions and sporadic cerebellar ataxia which luckily is curable.
But nevertheless it's always better to avoid them since gluten is considered to be one of the reasons for the Celiac disease to surface or precipitate, which otherwise, remains hidden.
